Cricut Design Space Overview

Cricut Design Space is the software that is used to send files to the the vinyl cutter. You can create basic designs within the program, but you can also import designs created in Gravit Designer or just things you downloaded from the Internet.

There are two ways to access this software:

  1. Cricut Design Space is installed on all computers in the Room 339 Computer Lab as well as the few computers in the Design Lab classroom. **
  2. You must also install the Design Space iOS app from Self Service.

** As of this writing, the program in the computer lab requires an update and cannot be used.

Regardless of what you use to design, you will need to create an account, and all work should sync to the cloud. You can design on a computer, and it will also be available in the app. This is useful because you can either use your iPad to connect (Bluetooth) to the vinyl cutter or the computer directly next to it (USB).

Before you begin exploring the Design Space program, one important thing to point out is it includes a lot of text and graphics that are not free to use. You may not realize it at the time, but you will not be able to export that design until you pay for those design elements.
